Know Before You Go is a Non-Profit educational/informational teaching organization created to help California drivers arrested for Driving Under the Influence understand and follow DMV, Drivers License, and insurance requirements after a DUI arrest, in order to avoid costly mistakes that result in increased fines and jail time.
“Our mission is to give drivers the on-and off–the record information they are going to need to get through this process, that they won’t be able to get anywhere else; not from their lawyer, not from the court, and not readily available from the DMV”, says Yvonne Gambino, Director of Know Before You Go. “Knowledge is power- I firmly believe that. “
Who Teaches The Class
Yvonne Gambino is a member of the Orange County DUI Task Force and meets with Legislators about DUI legislation and the DMV Mandatory Action Unit in Sacramento regularly in order to provide up-to-date information to program participants she teaches at court-mandated programs in LA County and to Know-Before-You-Go attendees.
After more than 15 years of teaching What You Need To Know After A DUI, from licensing suspensions to legislative updates, at court and DMV mandated DUI programs in Southern California, Yvonne Gambino now brings this presentation to those that have recently been arrested for DUI, before they start making costly mistakes.
Yvonne still speaks at select programs when requested but in 2012 began offering the presentation at Know Before You Go, to ALL recent DUI arrestees. The class not only explains the licensing suspension/restriction requirements and penalties, SR-22 requirements, and off-the-record insurance advice.
“DUI Program participants have told me how grateful they are for this information, because there was nowhere to go to get it accurately. They always wished they could get the information right after the arrest, instead of months later” Gambino said. “I knew I had to reach them before they could very easily make mistakes that cost them thousands of dollars and more time in jail.
Knowledge is power. The more you know about the process, the more control you have over it. That’s my goal for this class. To not only explain the DMV and court rules, but also the off-the-record tips and strategies that they won’t hear anywhere else that really keeps you out of trouble and saves you money.”
